Creative Philosophy

The Music of the Cut

"Every film has its own internal heart rate. An editor's task is not to force a rhythm, but to discover the organic tempo that already exists within the captured performances. Whether cutting dialogue, weaving foley tracks, or grading highlights, the post-production process is a musical endeavor. If the pictures sing, the audience listens."
